Well, for all you peeps who have not discovered this stuff yet, fanfiction is basically story writing from people all over the web, usually about characters from TV shows or movies, etc. However, there is also original fiction, using - you guessed it - original characters. There are many of these sites scattered across the web - fanfic writing is very popular.

Many see it as a chance to explore what ifs?, and it is interesting to see what kind of things people come up with....

If you feel you have the talent, or just want to see what it would be like to control your own characters and make your own story, why don't you try writing some fic? Remember, practice makes perfect, so don't be put down if your first few fics seem a bit lame - once you get started, it can only get better!

Beta-readers can also be useful for double-checking your work, and are usually in high demand, so if you don't feel like writing, but think you could help with a few stories, please get in contact with the authors!

If you do decide to post some fic, only constructive criticism will be made - it also makes the whole experience worth it once you get some good feedback and interest in your work. Go for it!
